Sergio Cifuentes, Medical Oncologist at Las Américas Auna Clinic, shared a post on X:
“As a young oncologist, I’m entering a stage where I ask myself: Is everything I learned from my mentors the true “standard”? Now, I find myself questioning, rethinking, and reshaping my own clinical concepts.
It’s an emotional stage—full of growth, stretching my limits, but also uncertainty. Sometimes I feel the FOMO of needing to re-evaluate so many concepts at once. Yet, I’m trying to embrace it with calm and curiosity.
This journey is not just mine—many young oncologists around the world share this process. By voicing it, we can normalize the struggle, support each other, and grow together. Let’s keep the conversation alive.”
