“Our amazing Yossyanne! She’s the spirit of our inpatient team, helping our young patients and their families overcome some of life’s most difficult obstacles.
The story of our City of Hope Children’s Cancer Center is written by the outstanding team we have assembled.”
Quoting City of Hope’s post:
“For Yossyanne ‘Ochie’ Simbolon, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at City of Hope Children’s Cancer Center, working with pediatric and adolescent/young adult (AYA) patients is deeply personal.
Early in her career, Yossyanne was inspired by the resilience of young families facing adversity, and by her mother’s example of compassion and selflessness. She saw firsthand how coping skills and strength can be learned and nurtured through care and support.
Her connection to City of Hope began when her aunt was treated here for leukemia. Visiting campus and witnessing the groundbreaking research fueled Yossyanne’s desire to join an organization dedicated to building brighter futures for patients and families. She’s proud to be part of a team that never stops learning and innovating in cancer care.
‘Every day is a new opportunity to be kind, make the right decision, and to learn something new. We are all different people, with different strengths and different talents. Let’s learn from one another!’ she says.”
