“KRAS Mutation Status in NSCLC: Occupational Distribution
ATLAS subanalysis (n=302): Cooks 70% KRAS+ (OR=5.81), painters 66.7% (OR=4.29) vs 34% overall.
Sex/smoking adjusted, occupation leaves a genomic footprint.
KRAS by job:
- G12C: personal services 33.3% (p=0.012)
- G12A: painters 22.2% (p=0.020)
- G12D: chemical exposure 9.5% (p=0.005) Low exposure = ↓ KRAS (OR=0.43).
The carcinogen type shapes the mutational subtype.
KRAS+ in 87% of adenocarcinoma vs 61% KRAS wt; more often with synchronous tumors (p=0.035).”
