Putting Patient Voices at the Center of Inflammatory Breast Cancer Research – ARTIDIS

ARTIDIS shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Putting Patient Voices at the Center of Inflammatory Breast Cancer Research

At ARTIDIS, we believe that engaging with patient advocacy is critical to advancing technology. While our work in nanomechanical phenotyping can reveal physical changes in cancer tissue, it is the patient perspective that ensures these innovations will truly be able to improve outcomes.

On September 12, 2025, we gathered at TMC Helix Park, Houston for a Patient Advocate Lunch and Learn. We were honored to hear from PI Dr. Wendy Woodward, who is leading our clinical trials and shared what excites her most about advancing IBC research. Patient advocate Stacey Tinianov, MPH, BCPA, our guide in the patient advocacy space, provided invaluable perspective on how to continue building trust and meaningful dialogue with the patient community.

What is IBC?

A rare, fast-growing, and aggressive breast cancer that often appears as redness or swelling rather than a lump, making it harder to detect early. Patients with IBC face delayed diagnoses and limited treatment options.

This initiative was coordinated by Ana Kalichava, PhD, who brought the program together and ensured that patient voices were placed at the center of the discussion, aligning ARTIDIS’ mission with the lived experiences of those most impacted. Listening, learning and building together, where science and patient voices meet, is the only way to shape the future of care.

Together, we can make a difference for IBC patients.”

Stacey Tinianov, Executive Director at Advocates for Collaborative Education, shared ARTIDIS’s post on LinkedIn, adding:

“Transparency. Consistency. Authenticity.

Thank you ARTIDIS for partnering with the advocacy community and honoring these three pillars of this trust framework.

Grateful for another event filled with open dialogue and honest conversation, this time about the needs in the inflammatory breast cancer community.

Looking forward to the next two-way listening and learning session in San Francisco, CA later this month!”
