Arif Kamal, Chief Patient Officer at American Cancer Society, shared a post on LinkedIn by American Cancer Society National Breast Cancer Roundtable, adding:
“Kicked off this morning with the ACSNBCRT Steering Committee where I and Olufunmilayo (Funmi) Olopade stepped down as co-chairs and welcomed new leadership: Erika Hamilton, Anne Gaglioti and Ben Ho Park.
At a time full of fractures, collectives like the American Cancer Society Roundtables are more important than ever. I am so proud of the work that the wildly talented and passionate members accomplished over the past three years, including:
- The 2022 ceremonial launch of the Breast Cancer Roundtable in the state dining room of the White House
- Recruitment of 120 peer organizations across the ecosystem of breast cancer to create a powerful and unified voice
- The release of the 5-year strategic plan focused on increasing health equity across the breast cancer continuum
I look forward to staying involved and witnessing the membership make even greater progress over the next three years. – Arif Kamal
Many thanks to Melissa Thomas and Lilly Meier, MA at ACS for helping to lead the charge.”
American Cancer Society National Breast Cancer Roundtable’s post below:
“Day 1 of the ACSNBCRT National Meeting is underway!
This morning, we recognized the leaders who have shaped the roundtable’s vision and strategic direction since its launch three years ago and warmly welcomed our new leadership team. We’re grateful for the expertise, passion, and service of all of these amazing leaders.
Next, our Co-Keynote presentation will explore the future of breast cancer screening, with Amy K. Patel, MD, Adam Yala, and Hari Trivedi discussing how artificial intelligence is transforming the field and the real-world equity challenges that come with it.
Later, participants will break into interactive small groups to examine key challenges and system-level gaps across four strategic priority areas — lifestyle factors that impact breast cancer, meeting the needs of survivors amd caregivers, engaging non-traditional and community-based providers, and equity in implementation.”
