Loay Kassem, Assistant Professor of Clinical Oncology at Kasr AlAiny School of Medicine, Cairo, shared an article by Carrie S. Stern, et al. on LinkedIn:
“Breast saving surgery means better sexual well-being compared to mastectomy and reconstruction.
In a large study of 15,857 patients, the 7347 women who had mastectomy and reconstruction scored 7.6 points lower than the 8510 who had Breast conservation at 1 year after surgery.
The findings of such study should be noted when counselling patients with early breast cancer about locoregional therapy options.”
