“In a new study published in Springer Nature‘s Nature Immunology, researchers from Humanitas Research Hospital including CRI Lloyd J. Old STAR Dr. Enrico Lugli describe a mechanism through which tumors influence the functioning of innate immunity to their advantage, identifying the receptors regulating the pro-tumoral transformation of macrophages for the first time. Preventing the activation of these chemosensors by the tumor would constitute a new approach to immunotherapy based on innate immunity, a path yet to be deeply explored. Read more.”
