“Cancer health disparities (CHD) result from a complicated interplay of factors across a variety of levels.
While researchers have made great progress in understanding and proposing solutions, disparities persist across the cancer continuum.
I was opportuned to join the National Cancer Institute (NCI) as we held three dynamic virtual workshops that were designed to be intense, interactive, free-thinking and involving a broad range of individuals across disciplines.
There was brainstorming with perspectives from broad sectors in society, including academia, industry, government, non-profit, cancer survivors and patient advocates.
We plan to build on the visions developed during this minilab in the ideation lab in January 2024.
We need to envision a more trans-disciplinary future of CHD research and accelerate progress towards cancer health equity for all populations, both locally and globally.”
