Michael Makris, Professor of Haemostasis and Thrombosis at University of Sheffield, shared on X/Twitter:
“Amazing. The population of Egypt is 109 million. In 2008, 10% (!) of the population had chronic hepatitis C. By now they have diagnosed 87% and eliminated the infection in 93% of them. Great results when governments and public health services work together. Story in 2 pages in The Lancet this week.”
