Ardem Patapoutian, Investigator at Howard Hughes Medical Institute, Nobel Prize laureate, shared on X/Twitter:
“Is it weird that I’m contemplating (not very seriously) medical school at age 56? I truly admire those with a profound grasp of medicine. I know – it’s unexpected coming from a Nobel Prize recipient in Physiology or Medicine. Notice the ‘or’ in there? There’s a reason for it!
The Dean of the Medical School at the University of Chicago actually mentioned I’d stand a strong chance of getting in if I applied.
I wonder if HHMI will allow it? Leslie Vosshall?”
