“Visited the VVF facility in Kebbi few weeks ago, to offer my support to women battling this preventable condition caused by poor maternal care.
Northern Nigeria bears 80% of VVF burden—12,000 new cases yearly. 1 in 10 women have risk factors, and only 1 in 3 has access to skilled birth care.
These women endure pain, stigma, and abandonment, but healing is possible. Many go through this cycle twice. We MUST act by raising awareness, funding treatment, and improving our healthcare system.
