“From June 10 to 14, the XVII CCI LATAM Conference took place in Cali, Colombia!
It was a powerful week of connection, learning, and regional collaboration bringing together passionate voices from across Latin America, all united by a shared goal: transforming childhood cancer care in the region.
It was an inspiring week of connection, shared learning, and regional collaboration, bringing together key voices from Sociedad Latinoamericana de Oncología Pediátrica (SLAOP), Pan American Health Organization, ACHOP, CCILatam, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, all united in their mission to improve childhood cancer care across Latin America.
A special highlight of the week: after nine years of dedicated leadership, Dr. Marcela Zubieta handed over the leadership of CCI LATAM to Javier Galvan. Marcela will continue supporting the region as Vice Chair.
Another milestone moment was the presentation by PAHO and strategic partners of the first collaborative study on the current situation of childhood cancer survivors in the region, a major step forward for survivor care.
Alejandra Mendez, CCI Vice President, and Carl Queiros, CCI Executive Director, joined the full conference, reaffirming CCI’s global commitment to the Latin American region.
This conference was more than just a meeting, it was a celebration of a growing community, moving forward with purpose, unity, and hope.”
