“There are now 68 gene and RNA therapies approved globally, and the distribution might surprise you.
Based on the ASGCT Q1 2025 report, this chart shows where these therapies have been approved.
- USA leads with 48 approvals.
- The EU follows with 33.
- The UK is third with 30.
Several countries have only 1 approval (not shown), highlighting the divide in access to advanced therapeutics.
The science, manufacturing and regulation are moving fast.
Are we all keeping up? I’m not sure I am.”
