In this study, KayLee Steiner, Jeffrey Rathmell et. al found that a gene called MECR helps T cells get the energy they need to fight disease. Without MECR, T cells struggle to survive and do their job.
By understanding these metabolic pathways, we might find new ways to make cancer-fighting T cells even stronger!
