Laura Vater: Increase in rates of depression in the first year of residency

Laura Vater, Gastrointestinal oncologist at the IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center, shared a post on X:

“In the first year of residency, interns have a fivefold increase in rates of depression compared to fourth-year medical students.

We must continue to support the mental health of all doctors.”
