“‘I love being a woman and I was not one of these women who rose through professional life by wearing men’s clothes or looking masculine. I loved wearing bright colors and being who I am.’ Madeleine Albright
As a member of the SIOP Women Leaders Network Steering Group, I volunteer approximately 8 hours per month, and I’m thrilled to share the wonderful work I accomplished this month. I feel deeply honored to have virtually met and learned from the remarkable stories of women from around the globe, including the US, Australia, Canada, Brazil, Oceania, France, Myanmar, Mexico, Greece, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Iran, Kuwait, Russia, the UK, Peru, Turkey, Uganda, and more.
Their stories are inspiring, showcasing how women are changing the world in various fields such as pediatric oncology, child life specialists, epidemiology, nursing, pharmacy, patient advocacy, and beyond. I had the challenging yet rewarding task of selecting 15 stories from over 40 incredible narratives that deserve to be heard and admired.
Thank you, International Society of Paediatric Oncology – SIOP for providing such an inspiring platform that highlights the extraordinary contributions of women worldwide.”
