” ‘My name is Pamela and I was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer at the age of 49 in April of 2024. I was in the best shape of my life, exercising 3-5 times a week, eating healthy and at a healthy weight.
I went for my first routine colonoscopy with no symptoms and left the appointment in shock when I was told I had cancer. After this, things happened so fast. I had colon resection surgery followed by 6 months of chemotherapy.
I share my story to show other people the importance of getting a colonoscopy. I didn’t think this could happen to me, and I don’t know what’s going to happen next but getting a colonoscopy may have saved my life.’ – Pamela R.
