Quoting Jason Westin, Director of Clinical Research and Section Chief of Aggressive Lymphoma at MD Anderson Cancer Centre, on X/Twitter:
“Very important letter from the American Society of Hematology leadership on American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC).
Key points:
- Eventually do away with high-stakes tests.
- Remove the clock on Longitudinal Knowledge Assessment to allow discussion instead of rushed guess.
- Change to 15 Longitudinal Knowledge Assessment questions per quarter.
- Eliminate Continuing Medical Education (CME) reporting requirement to ABIM.”
